The Supports We Offer Our Home Carers

If you decide to apply for a home carer position with Comfort Keepers, you’ll find that we offer all our carers a range of supports.

Reporting concerns

Firstly, our carers can report any concerns or worries to their Client Care Manager. These may be thoughts about a client’s needs changing or concerns about their health. Client Care Managers visit each client once a quarter to re-assess their care but these concerns can be raised and clients’ conditions re-visited at any stage.

Counselling and supports

Laya Healthcare provide all employees here at Comfort Keepers with free and confidential help and support in managing whatever work or personal issues you are facing.

This service also extends to your family members. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The confidential programme also comes at no additional cost. It provides you and your family members with immediate help and support in managing whatever work or personal issues you are facing.

Comfort Keepers staff (including home carers) can also avail of bereavement counselling and support. We appreciate that, as a carer, you become very fond of your clients and they can seem like one of your family. Your manager will advise you of the funeral arrangements and you are welcome to avail of our bereavement supports.

Social events

We appreciate that it may be difficult to get to know other Comfort Keepers carers. Therefore, we arrange many social events so you get to know other carers as well as the office staff. These include coffee morning, barbecues, office lunches and days out. Our annual carer awards also celebrate your achievements too. We also organise team-building events.

Culture

If you are away from work due to ill health, we support your rehabilitation in the workplace. We aim to provide a workplace culture and environment to promote good health and wellbeing. We have a number of health and wellbeing services which include employee assistance programs, work-life balance, and health promotion activities.

Quality & Satisfaction

We measure the satisfaction of all our employees. We recently introduced Employee Satisfaction surveys into our annual reviews for managers.

Comfort Keepers was the first national homecare provider awarded the Q Mark, ISO9001, and Healthmark accreditations. These are for the quality of our care and the systems we use to support its delivery. We are the HSE Employer of Choice since 2005, with 9 branches nationwide and over 1,000 employees in total.

The Comfort Keepers mission statement is “to provide your loved one with the highest quality of life that is achievable. We seek to elevate the human spirit. Comfort Keepers treats each of our clients with the respect and dignity they deserve (as though we were caring for a member of our own family). This extends to our employees, who are an integral part of our community.
